SAGINAW CO., Mich. (WNEM) – A new push to close the gap in recovery care is rolling out across parts…
OREGON CITY, Or. — Clackamas County extends its sincere thanks to U.S. Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley and Representative Maxine Dexter for their leadership in advancing federal investments that strengthen substance use recovery services and improve rural transportation infrastructure critical to the county’s communities and economy.
Senators Wyden and Merkley put forward federal funding to support the Clackamas County Recovery Campus, which will expand substance use treatment and recovery services, address critical gaps in care, reduce wait times, and improve coordination across behavioral health, emergency services, and the medical community. This investment supports the County’s ongoing efforts to ensure people receive timely, person-centered care and a clear path from crisis to long-term recovery.
“Clackamas County is focused on radical compassion for individuals struggling with mental health and substance use disorders,” said Ben West, Clackamas County Commissioner. “This Recovery Campus will be integral in making treatment and recovery services available in our community. We are very appreciative of the Senators’ partnership in prioritizing care for our neighbors.”
In addition, Clackamas County thanks Representative Dexter and Senators Wyden and Merkley for advancing a Community Project Funding request to support the Mt. Hood Express (MHX), a public transit service that connects mountain communities, reduces congestion, and supports local businesses and regional mobility.
